    Teaching Background:

My teaching background has been three consecutive years at Jesuit High School.  During those three years, each year I taught two sophomore health classes, two freshman physical education classes and a sophomore through senior aerobic training class.  These classes have given me the opportunity to interact with adolescents in the classroom, field, gym, and while I am working out.  During these past three years of teaching I have been able to work on improving my classroom management skills, teaching skills, and also organizational skills.   Jesuit has taught me the value of the profile.  Through numerous inservices I have learned to teach to the Ignation paradigm.  The atmosphere at Jesuit is like no other school in the world and I am privileged to be a part of it.

    My Background:

I grew up on Whidbey Island.  Following my high school experience I fled to Gonzaga University to study Physical Education and play tennis.  During my four years at Gonzaga I valued my friendships with my tennis teammates while we traveled the west coast.  The education in physical education and health I received from Gonzaga has prepared me to become and influential teacher.  I learned so much from my professors as well as my peers in the physical education program.  Following graduation in May of 2000, I moved to Portland to be with my fiancé and received a job and Jesuit High School.  I was so eager to start my first teaching job and begin the next stage of my life.  I taught physical education, health, coached volleyball and tennis for three years. I still love teaching and plan on teaching and coaching at Jesuit for many years to come.  I started the Masters of Arts in Teaching/Continuing Teaching License Program at Pacific University in June of 2002.  I have been taking classes and working hard to complete this program in little over a year.
